On Mumbai-Nashik Highway just before Shahapur on left side you will see heighted mountain called Mahuli Fort. Mahuli Fort is devided into three parts. Mahuli Fort north part is called Palasgad, middle part is called Mahuli and southern part is called Bhandardurg. You should catch Mumbai Kasara local and get down at Asangaon Railway station. Mahuli village is situated at distance of 5 km from Asangaon railway station.
From Asangaon railway station to Mahuli Fort you can come by small walkway.From Mahuli village you have to climbed up 3 km Mahuli mountain. On the way to Mahuli Fort you have to climbed up one Iron Ladder also. When you enter the Mahuli Fort you will see cold water cisterns. Once you went to left side you will observe some rooms on Maha Darwaja. If you want to stay at Mahuli Fort then these rooms are best to stay.

On Plateau you will see Stone wall, Inscription and some remains. From southern ravine you can climb to Bhandargad. First you will see Mahuleshwar Temple. On Bhandargad at south you will see Navara, Navari and Bhataji mountains. You will see Chanderi mountain face also. Walkway on north side Plateau will take you to Palasdurg.
I went to Mahuli fort trek on 8 March 2009. This was the trek I went with my childhood friends. In Mahuli Fort trek there was team of 6 people. In trekking team Santya, Deepa, Sushant, Viju, Pappu and me were included. On 7 March 2009 we all friends met in our area and decided that tomorrow we will go for trekking to Mahuli fort. We have planned each and very thing very well. We have carried all the cooking vessels with us.
We have decided that tomorrow early in the morning we will catch 5.00 am train for Asangaon. Person who will be unable to catch 5.00 am train we will leave him and rest of the people will proceed for the Mahuli fort trek. Next day early in the morning we all friends met in our area at 4.30 am and started our journey towards Mahuli fort trek. One of our friend is having habit to wake up late. We woke him up and told him that we are going if you want to come with us then catch 5.00 am train in any condition. Luckily he caught 5.00 am train. We all friends boarded in 5.00 am train and started our journey towards Mahuli Fort. At 6.00 am we got down at Asangaon railway station. We went in Asangaon west and there was one shop open. We took all the required foodstuffs and proceed towards Mumbai-Nashik highway. It took approximately 10 minutes to reach Mumabai-Nashik highway from Asangaon railway station. We reached on Mumbai-Nashik highway and started waiting for S.T Bus for Mahuli village. After waiting for 15 minutes Mahuli village bus came and we all trekkers boarded in Mahuli village S.T bus. After 20 minutes journey in bus we reached to our destination Mahuli village. We went to one general store shop in Mahuli village and purchased all things to make tea. After puchasing all required things we started our trek towards Mahuli fort. This was Summer season but there was not lot of heat.
