Sondai Fort Trek Karjat Maharashtra

Sondai fort is one of the famous fort in Sahyadri Mountain Range. I have done this trek on 14 July 2019. This is the one of the most memorable trek in my life.

Sondai Fort

There was total 5 members in the trekking team. Amit, Ram, Pradeep, Madhavi and Amit Kamath. I was very excited with this trek.I wake up early in the morning and get ready for Sondai fort trek.I wake up at 6am in the morning. I reached Kalyan stattion at 7am. I started waiting for the Karjat local train. Its fall under Karjat Region. Sondai fort height is 1200 feet. In the morning we have taken train for the Karjat Station. We have reached Karjat around 9 am. We all friends meet at karjat station then we have taken breakfast. After breakfast we have caught bus for the Sondai Village. We reached at the base of fort around 10 am. then we started trekking for the Sondai fort. There was very dense forest on the way to Sondai fort. We have seen very beautiful waterfalls on the ways.

Sondai Fort Trek is one day trek. Sondai Fort is part of Matheran Hill Range. Sondai Fort is 9 km away from Karjat railway station. Sondai Fort is a hidden beauty of Raigad district. Sondai Fort is small a fort more a watch tower. Sondai Fort name is derived from Goddess Sondai. Goddess Sondai Temple is located at the top of mountain.

It was very exciting trek. we reached the top of the fort around 12 pm. There are so many big ladders where climbing is very tough. by the support of Ladder we can easily climb the fort. We explored the fort for 2 hours. Then we have taken launch at the top of the fort.Then we start descending. We reached at the base of fort around 4 pm. Then we have taken the tea.We caught riksha for the Karjat station. We have caught local for Mumbai. We have reached the Mumbai around 6 pm. This was one of the best memorable trek in my life time.
