I went to Bhivgad Fort trek on 14 July 2019. This was one of the most memorable trek in life. We all trekking friends meet at 8 am sharp in the morning at Karjat railway station. There was team of 6 people. Pragyan, Amit, Pradeep, Madhavi and Amit Singh were in the trekking team. We were very hungry so we went for snacks. We had breakfast and tea. Some of us had Vada Pav, Kanda Bhaji, Misal Pav and Vada Usal in breakfast. We also took parcel to eat. We caught rikshaw for base village Vadap.
Rock Cut Ancient Steps
Its take approximately 30 minutes to reach Vadap Village. There was rain coming and going in between. When we were travelling from Karjat railway station to Vadap village road was not so good. We had to be very careful when any speed breaker come and we have to fly in air. Once we reached Vadap village then we asked to local shopkeeper how to reach Bhivgad Fort. He guided us how we can go to Bhivgad Fort.

There was lot of crowd in Vadap village. We asked local shopkeeper about it. He told us there was one seasonal water fall . Lot of people from different part of Mumbai come to visit this monsoon waterfall . Then we started our journey towards Bhivgad fort. Rikshaw drop us at rikshaw stand near Vadap village. Its took aproximately 10 minutes to reach base village Vadap from auto rikshaw stand. When we were going towards Vadap village weather was very good. Rains also coming and going in between.
Do Bichare Bina Sahare
After 10 minutes of walk we reached to base village Vadap. Vadap is not very smalll village its big village. Finally we reached to the base of Bhivgad fort from where we had to start our trekking. We started ascending Bhivgad Fort. In starting after hiking for 5 minutes we got plane plateau. From this plateau you can see beautiful Vadap Village. This was rainy season so there was lot of greenery on the plateau.

Three of our friends were in hurry so they went ahead to reach fort early. We three were behind to explore the plateau. After 15 minutes of walk on plateau we reached to point from where actual ascending started. There was rain coming and going in between. At the end of plateau we got rock cut ancient steps. This rock cut ancient steps were slipery . Wear good trekking shoes while going for Bhivgad fort trek. I think this rock cut ancient steps were made by cutting mountain.
Caves Enroute
You have to cross rock cut ancient steps way very carefully. You will get some mosquitos also. Better to carry mosquito cream with you. After ascending rock cut ancient steps we reached to the peak of Bhivgad Fort. It took approximately 1 hour to reach on the top of Bhivgad fort from base village Vadap. Bhivgad fort is also known as Bheemgad Fort. Bhivgad fort is hill fort in Raigad district. There are so many forts in Raigad district for trek.

Bhivgad fort trek is best for the beginners who want to start trekking. Bhivgad Fort is very nice fort. You will get boards on Bhivgad fort which will give you all the information about the Bhivgad fort. After reaching on the top of Bhivgad fort we have started exploring the fort. On Bhivgad fort we have observed Caves, water cisterns and Ruins of fortification.

In the course of history, the main means of transportation used to pass through ghats. Chowki minus forts were used in strategic places for the protection of these ghats, along with the protection of ghats, as well as for the collection of taxes and during the war as messengers, fighting outposts.

Naneghat Caves Trek I went to Naneghat Caves Trek on 01 January 2017 with my college friends Rakesh, Kaustubh and Mukesh. On 01 January Mukesh is having his birthday also.
